STUCK (2024) is a piano trio work that explores the personal depths of burnout & writer’s block. It is an expression of my personal writer’s block phase and the different frustrations and processes going through the compositional stage. Throughout the piece, there are ongoing motifs that repeat on and on, almost mockingly, bouncing in my head, and different musical expressions of frustration build up as the piece moves forward. As the established motifs struggle to elaborate and develop, the piece crescendos into a peak of incredible anger and frustration, trying to get the music from mind to the pen.
